The Mission

About Angels
Angels is dedicated to being a leading source of support and hope for children and families within the foster care system. The organization’s mission centers on fostering deep community involvement, inspiring volunteerism, and cultivating the best possible foster homes for infants, toddlers, children, and teens.

Angels is committed to building meaningful relationships—between foster parents and children, caseworkers and parents, and everyone involved in the journey. The organization’s efforts are focused on creating a comprehensive support system for families and the children they care for.

Founded in 2008 by Jennifer Abney, a passionate foster and adoptive parent who relocated to Oklahoma City from San Diego, Angels introduced the Angels Foster Family Network model to Oklahoma. Jennifer brought with her a vision to revolutionize foster care and provide unparalleled support to foster families in the region. Angels strives to be a solution to the challenges of foster care rather than a temporary fix.

With initiatives like the HALO Project, which employs Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) therapy, Angels has influenced programs now widely implemented throughout the community. The organization’s roots run deep, creating a vast network of support. By fostering with Angels, families gain access to an extended family of resources and relationships.

Recognizing that foster families are their most valuable resource, Angels provides the tools, guidance, and support needed to shape a brighter future for children in foster care.
